Got this book (written in 1978) at a garage sale for 5 cents. Nicely done, good details, solid story. No twists to the plot (today's common one-trick pony gimmick), just well written and therefore not necessary. I agree with the reviewer that it definitely needs to be a movie.
Agree with the reviewer who wonders why this was not adapted for the screen. Very well written, characters are well developed. Novel holds up well against the fast paced thrillers written today. A must read for all fans of Nicholas Guild
Guild's major characters are real people, not stereotypes. They don't hop into bed with all available partners, they don't kill for no reason, and they wrestle with the dilemma posed by their job, even when they don't admit that's what they are doing.
